If you prefer to have us set up your quilt on the machine prior to your rental appointment we charge £6 for a cot or lap quilt, £8 for single or double and £10 for a queen or king size quilt. Basting for Hand Quilters (4 inch rows, or alternative if desired): Cost is £0.80 per square foot. Minimum charge is £30 per quilt.

Machine Quilting Preparation:
1. You must have completed the Introductory Lesson prior to your first rental. During your first rental, we will also provide instruction on loading your quilt and machine orientation.

2. Have your backing ironed and washed (if you are pre-washing). We suggest your backing is at least 4 inches longer and wider than your quilt top.

3. Select the batting of your choice and have it cut and squared. We suggest your batting is at least 4 inches longer and wider than your quilt top.

4. Iron your quilt top.

5. Select thread of choice. Variegated or decorative threads are available for purchase.

6. Become informed regarding the regulated and manual stitch modes of the Gammill.

7. Select pattern (if following a pantograph pattern), we have several for use.

8. Measure your quilt top, batting and backing, make note of these measurements.

9. If you plan to use the laser with patterns, we suggest that you plan for extra practice time, bring additional practice fabric or we have one available for purchase.
